Find your path

Where are you in your career?

Your next step should fit your ambitions and the life you want outside of work. Start with the path that feels closest to where you are now.

A sunlit path leading into an evergreen forest

Get In

Find your direction, tell your story clearly, and approach opportunities with a plan you believe in.

Stone steps ascending through a green woodland

Move Up

Build the confidence and leadership habits to take on what’s next, without losing sight of what matters to you.

A mountain ridge trail opening toward distant peaks

Move On

Make sense of what isn’t working and explore a new direction with more intention and less second guessing.

Meet your coach

Hi, I’m Matt.

I spent the next decade after starting my career in corporate America climbing the ranks at Starbucks, Amazon, and Google. I’ve had a heck of a ride, and I created Woodchip Park to help others navigate their own.

My experience gives us a practical starting point for talking about careers and leadership. But coaching with me starts with the person behind the résumé.

You matter. Your family matters. Your hobbies matter.

Outside of work, you’ll find me with my kids, on a trail run, or in the garden. I believe a good career should make room for the rest of life.

Beyond the title

Work is part of your story.

It doesn’t have to be your whole story.

Meaningful work and financial stability matter. So do the relationships, interests, and gifts that make you who you are.

A good career makes room for all of it.

Why I do this

A career should make room for a life.

My time at Starbucks, Amazon, and Google taught me a lot about navigating corporate life. Becoming a dad changed how I thought about success. I created Woodchip Park to help people build careers that reflect who they are and what matters beyond work.

Working together

A clear place to start.

Every career decision has its own context. We start with a conversation, identify what matters, and turn that insight into steps you can use.

01

Connect

Start with a 45-minute intro call. Share what’s happening in your work and see whether we’re a good fit.

02

Find clarity

We look at your goals, strengths, and constraints so your next move reflects your real life.

03

Take action

Leave with ideas, practices, and tools to navigate the corporate world more confidently.

A useful place to begin

Get clear before you make a move.

Whether you’re considering a new role, seeking more responsibility, or wondering what comes after this chapter, take ten minutes with these prompts. You can print them and bring your thoughts to our conversation.

Five career clarity prompts

  1. What part of your work gives you energy right now?
  2. What part has been costing you more than it gives back?
  3. What would you like more of in the next chapter?
  4. What matters outside of work that your next step needs to protect?
  5. What is one small action you could take this week?

Your next chapter

Let’s start with a free 45-minute intro call.

We’ll get to know each other, talk about where you are and what you’d like to change, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. This is an introductory conversation to explore how I can support your journey.
